Um die angeschlagene Firma zu retten, verkauft Alfred Neff die Mehrheit der Geschäftsanteile von NEFF an den Elektrokonzern AEG. In umfangreichen Sanierungsmaßnahmen wird die Belegschaft von über 4.000 auf 2.300 Mitarbeiter reduziert, 1971 die Gießerei in Bretten und 1979 die Großküchenfertigung in Bruchsal geschlossen.
