BSH's global technology center for dishwashers has been located in Dillingen since 2014. The center boasts a number of different laboratories, including the dishwashing lab.[1] "In the dishwashing lab, we test how thoroughly our appliances clean and how much energy they consume with the set parameters," explained lab boss Hein Heißler in 2015.[2] The first dishwashers fitted with the Home Connect function were added in the same year.[3] Home Connect enables communication between home appliances and an app running on a smart phone or tablet. For example, the app can be used to turn down the temperature of the oven when on the go or to check the contents of the refrigerator for finalizing the shopping list.
